Free Byron Katie Workshop in Amsterdam

You’re invited to a free ABC Spiritual Book Club-session on Byron Katie’s The Work with Sagar Simon!

About the Workshop

In the words of the Greek philosopher Epictetus:

“We are disturbed not by what happens to us, but by our thoughts about what happens.”

This class is an opportunity for you to have an experience of The Work of Byron Katie. It will provide a space for you to come out of suffering, to find inner peace and clarity, and to live a joyful life. This is where your freedom lies. The workshop will be fun, revealing and leave you with a tool you can always use when stressed.

Suffering is optional,” Katie says. “Whenever we experience a stressful feeling‑anything from mild discomfort to intense sorrow, rage, or despair‑we can be certain that there is a specific thought causing our reaction, whether or not we are conscious of it. The way to end our stress is to investigate the thinking that lies behind it, and anyone can do this by himself with a piece of paper and a pen.”

Please come to this course with some preparation: start reading Katie’s book , Loving What Is – Introduction through Chapter 3, and bring a filled-in Judge-Your-Neighbor Worksheet.

Lets have fun and see what the mind thinks!

Sagar Simon in his own words:

In 1999 I met The Work and Byron Katie, or rather The Work and Byron Katie found me. To this day I am grateful for the gift of The Work. I have discovered, through The Work, that the road to hell is paved with blaming others – and that the way out is The Work of Byron Katie.

I now know that there is no place within me that I cannot visit and safely return because I have the four questions and the turnarounds. I have returned from this inner hell as a kinder, more loving human being, more open to others and having more space within. Having done The Work on my mother, she is back into my life although she died years ago. I went from rejecting her and being motherless, to accepting her and loving her, and therefore to being happier and more loving to myself.

With The Work, I know that it’s always what you are thinking that causes suffering. It turns out to be our own thoughts that separate and cause pain. I love facilitating The Work. I have a Masters Degree in counseling and I have also been trained as a Gestalt Therapist, and a Hypnotherapist.
