Scoop!
D&D initiative Dobbelgangers has made history with the first ever D&D night at the ABC. Six tables spread out over the three floors of our Amsterdam store hosted over thirty first-time and experienced adventurers. Blasts were had in a diverse range of in-game settings, ranging from North African dreamscapes to cursed gothic libraries.
For those unfamiliar with it: Dungeons & Dragons is a TTRPG, a Table-Top Role-Playing Game played with a group that is guided through an interactive storyline by a ‘game master’, who is both the storyteller and referee, arbiting the many dice rolls that make every session full of unexpected turns. Generally the story settings are fantastical or mythological in nature but the narrative can contain all kinds of genres, from comedy to horror, from detective to political drama.
Last week on Wednesday evening players transported mysterious cargo, lifted ancient curses and survived volatile lucid dreams. Laughs, gasps and screams were heard all across the store and by the end everybody craved for more.
Some impressions:
“Oh my gawd this was so much fun.”
“It was way less daunting then I expected, I loved it.”
“So much fun to dive into that world.”
“I think I found another hobby I can’t afford.”
“Where can I found a group to play with?!”
Behind the scenes we might just be working on the next sessions. Did you miss your chance for a ticket for this evening? So stay tuned into our socials.
And thanks for visiting our blog.
You get inspiration, now go forth, spend it well!
