We’re continuing to celebrate 250 years since Jane Austen was born! Jane Austen has inspired many, many authors over the years. Her work is still relevant and influential to this day. You can read more about the enduring appeal and influence of her work here. In this blogpost, we want to highlight some book-to-book adaptations, if you will. These are works of fiction inspired by, or retellings of, Jane Austen’s novels. A retelling is a new version of a story, that presents it differently but stays true to the characters and plot points. There are also many books that expand on the worlds Jane Austen has created, by re-writing her stories from the point of view of another (minor) character. This list is by no means exhaustive, however!
