We’re creeping up on Halloween, which is when all the vampires and werewolves come out of their hidey-holes to look for love, of course. They definitely had their moment in the early 2000’s, when the genres of Urban and Paranormal Romance were very popular. Now these creatures of the night are making a comeback, with many popular authors trying their hand at giving them a happy every after.

Below I have rounded up some great recommendations to satisfy your cravings for blo… for romance.

Bride and Mate by Ali Hazelwood

Ali Hazelwood is a wildly popular author who started out writing Contemporary Romance and made her Parananormal Romance debut with Bride. While she’s definitely not the first author to write about vampires and werewolves, she did introduce the more mainstream (TikTok) readership to the concept of knotting. The follow-up, Mate, released just this month. It’s set in the same world as Bride, but follows different characters.

The Fake Mate by Lana Ferguson

Lana Ferguson also made her Paranormal Romance debut with a werewolf romance. The setting of the story is just like our world, except, you know, werewolves exist. It’s a very spicy read, featuring werewolf-concepts like fated mates, wolves going into heat, and, of course, more knotting.

Another entry in the series, The Mating Game, will be published in December of this year.

The Five Packs series by Cate C. Wells

The titles of these books (The Tyrant Alpha’s Rejected Mate, The Heir Apparent’s Rejected Mate, The Lone Wolf’s Rejected Mate, His Curvy Rejected Mate, The Wild Wolf’s Rejected Mate and Ravaged Wolf) and the covers don’t really do justice to how good the books are. The characters are all werewolves, but less humans-that-turn-into-wolves and more a completely different species, with all the different behaviors and expectations and mind-sets that come with that.
