It’s almost time for our favorite day of the year, Thanksgiving!
We’ve celebrated this very American holiday since we opened in 1972 as a way to say thank you to you, our customers, for supporting us this past year, and for being such an enriching part of our book family. Your enthusiasm for books, in the form of excitement over new releases, joining us for events, and all the many recommendations to us, are valued more than you know. We can honestly say we have the best customers in the world!
Please visit us on Thursday 27 November, in-store or online, to celebrate with like-minded, literature-loving book people.
Here’s what we have lined up for you:
First off, and most importantly: 10% extra discount for everyone! That means 20% discount for everyone with an ABC Booklover Card as well as students, teachers, 65+ and everyone else who usually gets a complimentary discount.
The extra discount also applies to any online orders you make via abc.nl on Thanksgiving Day.
If you are registered in our database with a home address, and your card was valid on 31 October, you should be getting a little gift via snail mail this week as well. You can bring this postcard into the store with you for a one-time extra €8 off your purchase (valid starting on Thanksgiving Day until 31 December 2025, not valid online).
Harar Coffee: The first 100 people through the door will get a gift voucher to Harar Coffee on the first floor!
Baked Goods Potluck: sharing a meal has always been an important part of Thanksgiving. We’d love for anyone who loves baking to join our potluck. You can bring cookies, cupcakes, a bit of that sourdough — anything you fancy making and sharing. All bakers will receive a little gift voucher as a token of our appreciation.
