Colleen Geske is the author of the beloved series of books about Stuff Dutch People Like (and Say, and Eat, and Bake). The books offer a light-hearted take on Dutch culture, specifically from a non-Dutch perspective. With sharp insights and fun illustrations this series has been a favorite gift for anyone stout enough to brave life in the Netherlands, whether you were born here or not.
Originally launched in 2011 as a blog to amuse fellow expats, the phenomenon has now grown into an 8-part series of books, a website featuring blogs and merchandise (including a stroopwafel teething toy!), and a podcast where Colleen and Allard Westenbrink discuss anything from tourist traps to Dutch carnaval to taking the inburgerings exam.
This month sees the release of the latest entry into the Stuff Dutch People… series: Stuff Dutch People Hate. Dive into what drives the pragmatic Dutchies nuts, like tardiness, e-bikes, and soggy bitterballen.
