AAAaaand the Bookbits are back, after my vacation last month. ^^

– Let’s start off with a great interview by Booker Prize shortlisted Rachel Kushner which immediately made me want to read Creation Lake.

– If you like to discover new writing talent, check out these 10 Promising New Fiction Debuts, as well as 10 Noteworthy New Nonfiction Debuts.

– Lists! Here are five books based on… lists! And here are 8 crime fiction and thriller books set in the bookworld.

– Here’a another interview, this time with Malcolm Gladwell on the occasion of his new book Revenge of the Tipping Point. He takes a lovely self-aware view of what has – and has definitely not – stood the test of time from his debut The Tipping Point.

– Well, autumn is here, which is great for my pumpkin spice-loving colleagues (of which there are many), but not so great for a summer child like myself. Still, it does mean there are tons of fantastic titles coming out, some of which are collected by us here. The Guardian also has an extensive list to add to your TBR pile! LitHub has a fun flow chart of what to read for those of us more visually inclined.

Heading to the US for a vacation? Make use of this literary road trip article on LitHub – best spots to read in each state, as well as literary landmarks to visit and books about the place. Amazing.

– How do you translate a graphic novel into an audiobook? What an interesting question, answered here for the book The Talk by Darrin Bell.

Rotten Tomatoes but for books? Why, sure: Book Marks.

– And finally: Awards! The Booker Prize shortlist was announced last month (Lília wrote about it here). The National Book Award finalists have been also just been announced, in the categories Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, Translated Fiction, and Young People’s Literature, and they are all in the carousel below. It’s one of the biggest US literary awards, along with the Pulitzers; the winners will be announced on 20 November so you have some time yet to read them all…
