Egad! Another Bookbits in the same month as the last one?! Yep, the first week of March I’m off, so thought I’d get this in early. ^^

– Well, if you didn’t love Little Free Libraries already, a recent study in the US shows that these treasure boxes really benefit book-impoverished communities.

– It’s still Valentine’s month so I feel no qualms sharing these wonderfully sweet real-life bookish romances. We’ve had a few bookshop proposals ourselves and they are always so joyous!

Awards! The 2025 Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction longlist has been announced, and so has the 2025 International Booker Prize longlist, featuring Dutch-Surinamese author Astrid Roemer with her book On a Woman’s Madness (first published in Dutch in 1982!) , translated by Lucy Scott.

– The SFF Bestiary Archive looks at all manner of magical beasts, from the Elf-horses of Middle-earth to dragons and unicorns and selkies and cryptids in all kinds of literature.

Interviews! The Guardian has a very long interview with Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie, whose new book Dream Count is out next Tuesday. They also interview Anne Tyler on the occasion of her 25th book, at the blooming age of 83, Three Days in June.
